I've been scrapping & creating & cleaning...

and to some that last little bit of the opening line will bring about much laughter...
okay so I am not world reknowned for my mad crazy cleaning skills but don't get me wrong its not because I can't... its often simply down the the fact that I quite simply can not see the point of repeating every day the same as the day before... also don't think that we live in a complete pig sty... cause that ain't so either... but yes this week I did my fair share of cleaning and then some... channelling my inner Nana I guess!

And yes I have also been scrapping... creating a book for a friend about their recent family holiday... and I have to admit to having a total blast doing it... some times its just nice to scrap something different... different faces looking back at you...had said friend over yesterday to have a look at the pages done so far... which turned into an impromptu girlfriends time... throw in a photoshop lesson for friend... lots of giggles... lots of tea... and more than a bit of chatter... well it makes for a happy soul...

And in amongst all this cleaning and scrapping I have created a new paper package... had been feeling just a little... well in truth more than a little lacking in the mojo you know know... but upon spotting a totally yummily gorgeous photo... this little beauty crept slowly into my mind... gently unfurling in all its soft glory...

It's Friday at last...

Seriously this week has been flat out well actually it never quite finished from last week to tell you the truth...

August is the beginning of the birthdays starting to pile up... from now right through till the end of December there is at least one... sometimes more in the month... two very special birthdays this past week... Miss A turned 9! and my MIL Sue turned... hah like I would spill those beans... and both celebrate their birthdays the same day...

and I have to admit to seriously liking Fridays... it means a few things...

it means the weekend is close... NO getting up early... it also means that Chris is home from work... it means we get to have a little time to ourselves... it also means that new releases are coming out at Two Little Pixels...

Good Day Girlie weekend = 25% off everything...

It's been a really good day... though it did start out just a tad on the cold side and with a little bit of a hiccup for Chris...

Chris is off to the Brass Monkey Rally... a couple of nights away with a good ride or three thrown in for good measure... got all packed and ready to go, flicked the headlight on and went to check it... gotta make sure its on when your riding now... drat and blast the bulb which was working just fine yesterday had blown! Quick repair and he was off to his mates place... the two of them were riding down together... Just got a message from him... they arrived there safely... and have set their tents up in ... SNOW!!!! Thats right they have all gone camping in the SNOW!!!!

So that means the girlies and I are having a girlie weekend... chillin... doin girlie things... generally just having a cruisy weekend... we started off the weekend with Miss A at netball! She had a really great game! So good in fact she won team player of the day ... so proud of her... she played really really well...

First up is another with a template this time its not one of mine though...

But from the amazingly talented Suzanne of Roadside Designs... so incredibly easy to work with... I have a bit of a phobia about multiphoto pages but not using this gorgeous template... Look out for Suzanne's debut very very soon... at a favourite store of mine... hee hee... the papers and elements are all from my store... various kits etc

It's a lovely day for a bike ride... and new designs...

a push bike ride that is... pedal power not engine power this time... just got back from a lovely long block ride... now the short block is about 6km... the long block is 17... feel good... all that glorious son beating down on us... a bonus of the chillier evenings and early mornings is the lovely sunny day that is a result...

and I am still working on those photos from our West Coast trip... its jsut that Alec and Edna keep dropping ideas into my head... Alec Lawrence the paper pack is out today... but expect a visit from them both very soon... maybe even next week...

We took a little trip in our favourite rocket ship...

okay so maybe not rocket ship but we did take the Pug for a good long walk... run... hop... skip and jump...

It's the school holidays here so we decided kind of last minute to take a little trip to the West Coast... we had planned on it at Christmas... but then everything went just a little pear shaped and we never made it...

We were heading to Westport... via Arthurs Pass, Kumara, Punakaiki (the Pancake Rocks) and little points between... it was originally meant to be Karamea but we dithered too long and there wasn't anywhere to stay... well no where that we could or would afford anyway... so Westport it was and I have to say I am glad of that... a little bigger and not quite so isolated...

Still working on sorting out some photos so will come back with more of the story and photos later...

In the mean time I have some new designs out this week...

It's been an interesting week

certainly a busy one...

the kids have had activities at school all week! Wheels day yesterday proved interesting... bikes, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades... you certainly had to have your wits about you getting through the maze of bikes etc parked up waiting for their owners to retrieve them...

My good friend Tracy celebrated her birthday Tuesday... my darling husband Chris had his birthday yesterday and today our good friends and neighbours boy Max is celebrating his birthday...

I have created a few more pages just for myself... and finished up another book and sent it off for printing... going great guns... and bonus too I managed to get a Christmas pressie sorted!
Hows that for being organised... kinda scary actually but don't tell too many people I said that! hee hee...

I have a new project in mind also... so working on that... gonna take a bit of time this one since it relies on getting help from others... have to learn some patience here... and if you know me patience is NOT one of my strong points... it certainly is one of lifes virtues and I am continually amazed at people who have patience in abundance... or even slightly for that matter...

Cleaning Frenzy and New Release Friday... and a CT call...

Well it appears there is a rumour going round ... a rather funny rumour actually ... and I can't say I ever felt this way while I was but boy oh boy am I in the nesting mode now... two days down with I don't know how many more to go I am cleaning my Office... anyone who had ever seen it will know just how much of a mission that is!

I sit here looking at the semi tidy space on my floor... and am rather proud of what I have achieved already... keeping in mind all the time however that there is still a rather a lot left to do...

The good news is that I didn't get smothered by the great pile of fabric that I pulled out of it yesterday which once this room is done is going to be seriously attacked and put to good use in more constructive ways than that its currently doing

But and there is always a but I have been able to release some new items in the store... and maybe if I get a moment or two and don't get squished under another pile of whatever I will be able to sort out a little freebie for here later ... you will have to come back and visit to find that out won't you...

But onto New Release Friday... gotta love Fridays with 25% off now don't you?

My lesson today was

not to make assumptions... they do tend to turn around and bit you on the assumption if you do!

It was a rather timely lesson for me to learn to... I like most everyone else just assume that since you know how to do something then everyone else does... WRONG on my part! We all have to learn new things... we don't always just know something... and the great timing... well I have an instructive type article to write and this lesson will help me to keep in mind that just because I know how to do something that I should NOT assume that everyone else does...

End of lesson...

Well so I thought... I apparently had more than the one lesson on the cards for me today... the next lesson for me is one of patience! And those who know me in real life know that I struggle with patience... its a virtue so I have been told that I do not have in abundance...

My lesson in patience comes in the form of a new toy for me... a very nice brand spanking new toy... with a US battery charger involved!!!!
Did you know US power plugs and New Zealand power sockets do NOT like each other? I kinda did and assumed... ooops there's that first lesson again... that my new toy would come with an adaptor... and it should... however it was missed out getting into the box...
The lady on the other end of the phone was very apologetic and promised to get an adaptor on the courier to me today... with the promise of a Saturday Delivery... one catch there mind... couriers don't usually deliver in our neck of the woods on a Saturday... and since this weekend here in NZ is a long weekend... well I might just have to wait till Tuesday for said adaptor to turn up!

What is my new toy? Its a lovely shiny, never ever been used Canon 500D camera with 18-55mmIS lense... yay for me...

So two lessons to learn for me today... can I survive them?


Now since you have ever so patient listening to my ramblings... drat there is lesson two up again... I will leave you with my new releases this week...

So what's up with the weather like?

Seriously this chopping and changing of seasons each day is starting to wear more than a little thin! Yesterday totally glorious... well until the howling nor wester picked up in the afternoon... mind it was still a warm wind so that wasn't so bad...
the day before that however we had our winter woolies out again... Mrs Pea was a Frozen Pea!




But at least it was lovely for Dannielles birthday... yayyyyyyyy! my baby girl is 7!!!! like when did that happen? ooh and talk about royally spoilt! she now has some brand new my little ponies and littlest pet shops to play with... some bling from a very clever nana and grandad and aunty sonia who also sent her a totally brilliant jacket and jammies to go with it!

Everyone sure does know our baby girlie... and Sunday... she gets to get all dolled up and have a posh type afternoon tea party with four of her friends... certainly much easier for me than the sleep over she was hoping for!

And what do you see on our brand new 7 year olds photo? A bigger gappy tooth smile! It had been holding on since before we went to Italy... we expected to come home to find it missing! NOT a chance it hung on till last weekend! And check out that coolio cake! The girl loves sponge type cakes and icing (cream) with strawberries... I was too late here and she had already pulled out the sparkler candles! And boy did it take some blowing on her part to get them to go out!
And see even I can take crappy shots... dark over her face... horrible shadowning behind her (read finger in the way of the on camera flash, should have got the big flash out and not been lazy!)
