There really isn't anything nicer

than the sound of rain falling on an iron roof at the end of the day... a day filled with sunshine

and yeah okay lots of washing being done and hung out... and got dry and already folded and away... a vegie garden weeded and seeing the amazing growth that has occured in the last few days since the d girl and I planted some of the seedlings out...

having an unexpectedly free night... instead of the meeting that was meant to fill it... now I have some glorious free time... with luck I can use some of it to download the photos off of my new camera... yeah I finally got the adaptor and charged those batteries... and yes I do mean batteries plural... my darling husband was nice enough to get me a spare battery and a high speed 8 gig card! Yay him!!!! He knows for a photographer there is nothing worse than running out of battery life at the most inopportune moment... or running out of space on your card... mind I did win two high speed 2 gig cards with my first in photography at the show so that shouldn't be too much of an issue... I HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The end of this week sees a huge celebration at www.twolittlepixels.com and seriously if you are a digi scrapper you would be seriously kickin yourself if you didn't go and nab some of the bargains that will appear come Friday... seriously rockin grab bags at just US$3 a piece and yeah I have a couple in there too... one Personal Use with some kickin Christmas helpers... and a Commercial Use bag too that I am really rather proud of...
Now having seen sneaky peeks of them all... I tell ya... there is something for everyone... and I somehow think I will be parting with some dosh come Friday... and probably more than just a little bit of it too... mmm is it too late to call it a birthday pressie to myself?

My lesson today was

not to make assumptions... they do tend to turn around and bit you on the assumption if you do!

It was a rather timely lesson for me to learn to... I like most everyone else just assume that since you know how to do something then everyone else does... WRONG on my part! We all have to learn new things... we don't always just know something... and the great timing... well I have an instructive type article to write and this lesson will help me to keep in mind that just because I know how to do something that I should NOT assume that everyone else does...

End of lesson...

Well so I thought... I apparently had more than the one lesson on the cards for me today... the next lesson for me is one of patience! And those who know me in real life know that I struggle with patience... its a virtue so I have been told that I do not have in abundance...

My lesson in patience comes in the form of a new toy for me... a very nice brand spanking new toy... with a US battery charger involved!!!!
Did you know US power plugs and New Zealand power sockets do NOT like each other? I kinda did and assumed... ooops there's that first lesson again... that my new toy would come with an adaptor... and it should... however it was missed out getting into the box...
The lady on the other end of the phone was very apologetic and promised to get an adaptor on the courier to me today... with the promise of a Saturday Delivery... one catch there mind... couriers don't usually deliver in our neck of the woods on a Saturday... and since this weekend here in NZ is a long weekend... well I might just have to wait till Tuesday for said adaptor to turn up!

What is my new toy? Its a lovely shiny, never ever been used Canon 500D camera with 18-55mmIS lense... yay for me...

So two lessons to learn for me today... can I survive them?

Birthdays and lots of them...

October is what you could only call one hectic month for us! Birthdays, wedding anniversaries all packed in tighter than a whale in a sardine can!

And then of course there is the local show to add to the fun and games... which I am very happy to report that I did very very well at this year...

Photography - 2 firsts, 1 third and a commended ... one of the firsts also won a special prize for me... in the child study category... I am now proud owner for the next year of the Les Howson Cup ... Yayyyyy

so feeling pretty darn proud of myself... and yes as soon as I get a minute I will photograph and add here my winning entries! Just need a moment or three to do it!

It's our wedding anniversary on Tuesday... sadly Chris has to work a night shift... so today we are spending the day together celebrating instead... and if you are a digi scrapper you might want to keep an eye out at two little pixels come Wednesday my time...

And then for one week from the 30th October two little pixels will be celebrating its second birthday with lots of treats in store...

So what's up with the weather like?

Seriously this chopping and changing of seasons each day is starting to wear more than a little thin! Yesterday totally glorious... well until the howling nor wester picked up in the afternoon... mind it was still a warm wind so that wasn't so bad...
the day before that however we had our winter woolies out again... Mrs Pea was a Frozen Pea!




But at least it was lovely for Dannielles birthday... yayyyyyyyy! my baby girl is 7!!!! like when did that happen? ooh and talk about royally spoilt! she now has some brand new my little ponies and littlest pet shops to play with... some bling from a very clever nana and grandad and aunty sonia who also sent her a totally brilliant jacket and jammies to go with it!

Everyone sure does know our baby girlie... and Sunday... she gets to get all dolled up and have a posh type afternoon tea party with four of her friends... certainly much easier for me than the sleep over she was hoping for!

And what do you see on our brand new 7 year olds photo? A bigger gappy tooth smile! It had been holding on since before we went to Italy... we expected to come home to find it missing! NOT a chance it hung on till last weekend! And check out that coolio cake! The girl loves sponge type cakes and icing (cream) with strawberries... I was too late here and she had already pulled out the sparkler candles! And boy did it take some blowing on her part to get them to go out!
And see even I can take crappy shots... dark over her face... horrible shadowning behind her (read finger in the way of the on camera flash, should have got the big flash out and not been lazy!)

yet but boy is it cold and wet and just generally miserable... these holidays have been filled with it! Bahumbug bring on summer or at least something that vaguely resembles spring NOT winter!

and its my Aunty Alisons Birthday tommorrow (10th) a rather special one for her... you know one of those somes that have a zero in... and you know what she has gone and done? Skivved off to England to be with her eldest boy and his wife and sons... so anyway Happy birthday chickie... hope its a good one for you...

So obviously with school holidays

in full swing here at the moment I have had less time to stop and chat... surprise that really... huh yeah well if you could all see my scary clean house...

well don't go thinking all Home and Garden type neat now... cause that would just be something verging on the impossible for me... but no the little annoying things that I have been wanting to do for a while... like washing all the blankets in the house... washing the net curtains... trimming all the grass under the 27 meter fence we have... and thats only the one fence and of course it had to be done by hand since the flamin power cord for the weed whacker won't reach the far corner!

I have an amazing amount of digi stuff done too... with lots more to come... though at the moment it's all secret squirrel type stuff so not much to be said here about that...
