I am obviously...

running on half speed...

for what was I think the fourth or fifth time in the last few hours I have had to ring my parents to get them to answer something that should have been blatantly obvious to me...

if I had been slightly more with it that is... and not struggling with a head that feels like its full of cotton wool... eyes that really do want to close and stay closed... and aches that really would be better off somewhere else... anywhere else for that matter... having the flu is NOT FUN!

I digress... after staring at a photo for what seemed like hours but in reality was probably only a matter of minutes... I decided that I couldn't for the life of me figure out exactly what year my elder brother was born... was it three or four years after me... turns out it was the former... which then sparked a remark that switched on a fairly dim light bulb in my cotton wool filled head...

resulting in this sparkling conclusion... "if K is three years younger than me, and N is 2 years younger than him and K was born in 69 and N was born in 71... that means ... hold on Chris, my darling, long suffering husband is a year younger than my youngest brother!"

On being informed of this startling conclusion his rather charming (?) response was " well I can't help it if you are an old fart!" Thank goodness I love my husband...

and since I have rambled on about this photo and its resulting rather dim witted conclusion I guess I should share it huh?

I've been scrapping

quite a bit lately...

there are times that actual pages finished are fairly thin on the ground and then there are times that the cup certainly runneth over...

right now the cup runneth over... which is flamin brilliant!

I have to admit it certainly helps having new or different photos to scrap with... I have been pestering my Dad lately... and yeah Dad I am aware that is the understatement of the century but I am very thankful you have just nodded and no doubt muttered a few bad things about your pesky daughter...

Not quite so pesky here though... well at least not able to talk and ask for the near impossible anyways... created with lots and lots of creashens goodies...

It rained... I scrapped

We had our first really wet day yesterday... so while the girls were puttering around and Chris was doing another assignment... I got some scrapping done... tidied up my computer a little and finished off a kit preview for release this week...

My poor Dad has been put on an old photo hunt... and all because I made a photo book about my Nana... its been fantastic seeing some of these old treasures again... and there are some I have never seen before like this beauty! My goodness don't they look so young!
This is my Mum and Dad at their engagement party... October 1964...

and I got to use some of the papers I have made recently... Alec and Edna were Dad's parents... so it was kinda appropriate really... and have a look at the elements you will see more of them later this week ... when Alec and Edna the elements pack is released...

I have to say the moment I first saw Shens new "torn bits 2" I knew they would be perfect for adding to this page... great spot for the journalling and it looks brilliant too!

Seriously good ride... a reminder, new designs and a freebie to boot

Yes I have to say it was a seriously good ride... even if I spent lots of time getting on and off the bike to open ruddy gates...

only once did I not have to... a lovely young girl who had just closed the gate and was heading back to the van she was travelling in spotted us and come back to open it for us... how cool is that...

Chris prefers the Molesworth road, however I prefer the Rainbow... for me it was a little more to look at while sitting on the back of the bike... Chris needed to concentrate on the road but I had plenty of time to look around and think and dream up all sorts of wonderful ideas... for trips we could take... for designs I could create... all sorts really...

It was fantastic just to spend some time with him... even if he tried to dump me face first into a river... we got a little close to dropping the bike in the very rocky bottom of one of the fords we were crossing so off I get to help push the bike out only for him and the bike to suddenly not be there... really close to a full on dunking on my part!


Don't fortet my whole store is on sale for the month of February and the end of the month is near... no better time than now to pick yourself up a bargain...

Its Friday again... a trip, new goodies and a freebie too!

but this Friday is a little bit different for me... Chris and I are going to go on a little bike trip together... well not so little either... most of the day for both roads...

Chris has been wanting to do the Rainbow Road since he got his new dual purpose bike... Today is it... we are leaving soon... going up the Rainbow Road and camping somewhere along the way overnight and then coming back down the Molesworth Road... Yahoooo...

we are taking the girls to school and leaving shortly after... they are going to go and stay with their Nana tonight... so a treat for them too!

so it might not have SNOWED

yet but boy is it cold and wet and just generally miserable... these holidays have been filled with it! Bahumbug bring on summer or at least something that vaguely resembles spring NOT winter!

and its my Aunty Alisons Birthday tommorrow (10th) a rather special one for her... you know one of those somes that have a zero in... and you know what she has gone and done? Skivved off to England to be with her eldest boy and his wife and sons... so anyway Happy birthday chickie... hope its a good one for you...

I proved something to myself today... something of which I am really rather pleased about...
nothing spectacularly interesting... unless you happen to be a door!

the girls and I got home from posting a tyre to the North Island only to find our house had decided to lock us out! well kinda ... the handle on the back door decided today was a good day to give up the ghost... but I was not to be defeated!

A screwdriver, a pair of vice grips and a mallet and about 20 mins later the door was dealt with!

so proud was I that I created this...
