MagnaPad by MagnaPix product review

If your house is anything like mine your fridge sooner or later ends up covered in magnets from all over the place… usually advertising something or another that you don’t need or particularly want and usually not that great to look at.  They do have one use though… holding those little reminders to do this or pick up that or don’t forget…

Well MagnaPix have a solution and since you can personalise it with either a photo or if you are like me and a bit of a digital scrapper then your imagination is your only limit.  No more uglies for my fridge not at all.  Now it shall be covered in pretties from MagnaPix.

One of the things I appreciated was the dimensions to create the MagnaPad were able to be found on the MagnaPix website (under the AboutMagnaPix tab).  So after cranking up Photoshop and opening up {creashens} For Like Ever kit I got to playing created the following design.

One thing you will need to make sure of is that you keep a space clear at the bottom of the design so that the cut out for the pad to slip through won’t cut through anything important.

So once you have your design created, or have found the photo you want to use and edited said image if desired.  Now it’s onto uploading and ordering your product.  And the folks at MagnaPix couldn’t have made this any easier.

On the main home page there are scrolling product images with an Order Now button. Clicking on this will take you to an options screen.  Make your choice here before
being directed to the upload page.

One thing to keep in mind though the photo or design you have created has to be under 5Mb in size… and will only accept .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png & .bmp files.

So you have got your image uploaded and have added your personalised message, which I found to be the hardest part of the whole project… its time to order.

Once again MagnaPix have made it incredibly easy just click the order now button go through and add your address details and if you have a discount or voucher code add it now.

(Pricing shows current special pricing)

So I ordered this MagnaPad on the 1st of July and received it today (9th July) which I reckon is a petty good turn around including processing and delivery time.

And the resulting magnet and pad more than lived up to my expectations.  The colours are crisp and bright and true to what I had seen on my screen.

There is only one suggestion I would make to MagnaPix… (and have made it) is to stop the pad slipping up in delivery and putting a slight bend in the magnet and to protect it during shipping is to insert a stiff piece of card or perhaps create a sleeve similar to the one the fridge magnets arrive in to protect the edges and to stop the bending.

Really happy seeing the finished product hanging on my fridge… looking much better than the old uglies that used to be stuck there!

Disclaimer: Yes I was given the product for free to test and write this review.  In no way has this influenced what I have written.

Sometimes we all just need a little purty in our days...

My darling Anya took this photo of me on Mothers Day... awesomeness right there...

Also on mothers day... playing around with the gorgeous light spilling into D's room and my darling big girl...

While a few weeks back I caught my baby girl in what was really only a test shot...
don't you love it when test shots become fast faves?

I'm being teased and tormented

by Booking.com or more particularly by the emails they have sent me in the last couple of days...
Now would be the ideal time to be booking a getaway to Italy... France or Spain... heck most of the European Union to be precise...

But tonights one was the worstest of all... and yes I am fully aware the worstest is not actually a word but I strongly believe it should be!

Why was tonight's worst of all?  Well it was titled... Florence, Auckland and Empoli...
now while most of you would have a reasonable chance of knowing the first two the third might stump some... unless of course like me you have visited the area... and when you foolishly open the email and see the very hotel you stayed in the last time... well it drags you right back in... and makes you wish for wishes that will have to wait a little while longer... well unless someone offers to pay for my trip or I win lotto...

And I even found another hotel in the same small village that like the converted monastery is positively leeching history... this one is a converted convent... big sigh inserted here...

One day... it will come to pass... maybe I need to plan it for my 50th... now that would be a great way to celebrate a half century wouldn't it?  Wonder if I could manage 50 days to celebrate 50 years?

What's you current dream?

I've often wondered...

why some times people just seem to "drop off" the face of the earth... now I know...
Life... It happens... and usually in fairly large doses and not always good... though not always bad either...

This is my new reality...

Me and my girls
just my girls and me.

and I have to say we are doing pretty dang good...
okay we have our moments but hey who doesn't?

We make our own fun...
sometimes it's a normal regular kind of fun and sometimes its not...
and yes sometimes it involves a camera... and sometimes it doesn't...
Long arms or self timer... makes no never mind...

Sometimes we make mistakes... usually we can fix them...
though don't ask about the door cause I don't know how it got fixed all by itself!
Though I do have my suspicions...

We have a house we love...
Family and friends we love...
and most importantly we have each other...

So this is my life...
and this is my reality...
and mostly I really do kinda like it...

So here I am again...
and on Facebook too...
So say hello, hi, hola, buon giorno, buenas dias, bonjour
And please forgive me if "life" once again gets in the way...
as we all know it can...

News and general purtyness...

Okay so I seriously didn't think it had been that long since I had been here to post... oops my bad...

I guess I do kinda have an excuse...
had my brother Kevin down for a week to help with some jobs round the house that seriously needed doing...

We added to our critter numbers too with the addition of four laying hens... and in the two weeks we have had them so far have got 2 dozen eggs out of them... not bad considering the man we got them off said they may sulk for 2 or 3 weeks before getting down to laying... Hah they must love their chook palace...

And the big news is I have a job!  My first real job in 10 and a bit years... I am working from home as an in home educator for Selwyn Toddlers... so there was a bit of a mad dash panic to get things sorted out for that.
Have two wonderful kids in after school care... so easing into things quite nicely...

And then there was the car accident on Thursday... seriously only I could have this happen to me!
Not many people could say they have had a car accident standing NEXT to their car... but I can... At the local petrol station... person coming in hit the back of the car when they hit the accelerator rather than the brake... the handbrake on saved the car from frontal and rear damage but it did mean the car bounced forwards and bit me with the open door on its return trip... OUCH! A trip to the panel beaters is in order for it though... thankfully the company who owns the other vehicle has insurance... me? well battered and bruised but on the mend now... very thankful though, it could have been much worse!

I'm going to add some purty pages that I have created over the last little bit...

These first few have photos from our trip north to Whangarei in January...

Will always treasure these photos of my Nana Robbie

And my brother Kevin while he was down here...

More to come and I will try and make it back a whole lot sooner than I did this time...

So once again it's been a while...

And I have to say its been one heck of a month... again!

Christmas and New Years came and went just like it always does... and long summer holidays from school are now once again drawing to an end...
It's been a hectic time... including a very unexpected trip for the girls and I to Whangarei... My darling Nana Robbie was not doing so well... so we took a trip north to visit her... and so very very glad we did...

I will never forget Anya and Dannielle wandering into Nana's room at the hospital... she had her back to them so it was only when they got right up close to her that she realised they were there... She looked at them in a slightly puzzled way and asked them how they got there... to which Dannielle replied in a quiet little voice "we scootered Nana" before breaking out into a huge smile and heading in for a cuggle...
We spent a week up there... often popping in to visit her either at the hospital or at home... lots of nattering and catching up... lots of cuggles and lots of photos too!  Like she expected anything else from me...

I will treasure this photo always... four generations together... five gorgeous women and girls...

12 days after our return these photos were to be the last precious treasure...

In loving memory of
Ethel Dorothy Robinson
23 December 1925 - 25 January 2012
May she rest in eternal peace.
